Apparently it happens every twenty years, but the last time they came almost as close as this one was four hundred years ago, and the last time that it happened at night so that it was visible was eight hundred years ago.

I definitely won't be around for the next one, even if it is only twenty years from now :-D

it was very cloudy here too and therefore couldnt see the event or any stars for that matter...a real shame

We've had a dark, bleak and miserable day, all day today.

I did look out in the hope of seeing the planets, but it was still wet and cloudy.

Good to read that you had better luck, Allan.

I'll look out again this week in the hope that I might see the bright 'star' when the weather improves.

Tonight was supposed to be the best night for viewing ....................... unfortunately we have heavy rain and wet snow, so I doubt the skies will be clear enough :-|


Close to the equator is said to be the best place for the clearest brightest view of the event.

We did manage to see them last night and it was pretty bright. We have a lot of light

pollution here but luckily didn’t interfere too much

Apparently Christmas Eve might be a good time in uk because the weather is going to

be better. :-D :-D

I watched the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn last night.

A magnificent sight, but not quite as bright as I was led to believe. The sky was perfectly clear
