My cat's got fat!

The main reason my elder daughter took me shopping on Thursday was to get the food my cats 'prefer'. :-D
I now have 36 tins of the stuff.

To be fair, they'd rather have sachets, which they used to have in the evening, but since they've (they're both eating a lot - but only George is getting fat) taken on the persona of Billy Bunter, I'm not prepared to feed it to them on a regular basis.

Mine is going to starve to death.

Aldi haven't got the 'proper 'meat in so, after he has put us in mortal danger, he will be off to starve himself to death somewhere he can be seen by decent, caring people who will provide him with appropriate nutrition and not that dear stuff!

George has always been a very long (longer than the average) agile, 'slimline' black cat - to the extent that I could see people feeling his ribs & backbone when they stroked him, to see if he was starving - he wasn't and you could just feel his ribs and spine - the perfect weight.
Well, during lockdown, he has become fat! Well, not grossly fat, but definitely has put on weight around the middle, his face, and tail. This is mainly, I suppose because I'm home, and available for harassing, and he's 14.

It came to the crunch tonight. He tried to jump on the table (a forbidden act), tried - and failed. This used to be a simple, casual act pre-February.
He managed at the second attempt, at which point I put him back on the ground.
