The Hospital has just phoned to say they are very pleased with Ralphie's progress. He is no way as tense as he was around his abdomen and didn't really react to being examined.

He is still not eating from his bowl but the Vet said it was not really surprising with what he has been through. However, they are pleased with how he is coping with his feeding tube. Should Ralphie want to eat naturally he can do and it won't interfere with his feeding tube.

They are going to put him on oral medication today rather than having it through IV as he is at the moment. The oral medication is applied through his feeding tube and this would be how it would be applied when he comes home.

If they are happy with the way he takes to the oral medication there is a good chance he can come home tomorrow! The Vet said that he felt that a home environment for a dog with Ralphie's temperament would be more conducive to his recovery.

He said I shouldn't be worried about using the feeding tube as he said (they will obviously show me what to do) once I got the knack of it it would be dead easy.

Anyway, I'll take some food with me to try and tempt Ralphie this afternoon <3
