Sad that another star has gone. Apparently he was still touring with Jimmy Tarbuck 3 years ago!

He certainly made his mark on the entertainment world and in an inoffensive way too.

Sad for his son and all his family and friends.

Rest in peace, Des

Ah yes, lovely Des.

I remember him telling a long joke about two beans getting married. One arrived late, he came tearing into the church, he was a runner bean............

Carol Vordaman gave a very nice interview this morning about when she worked with him.

I absolutely loved Des O'Connor.

As Belle said, he always had a twinkle in his eye. He never took himself seriously which was why Eric and Ernie could use him continually as the butt of their jokes. He often joined their skits :-D And such an infectious giggle too!

A partnership, which would seem not to work on paper, but was really enjoyable and often hilarious to watch- Today With Des and Mel (Melanie Sykes) 2002

... and despite all the teasing, I really enjoyed his singing :-D
Except one of his hit records WAS a little silly ;-)
DICK A DUM DUM :-D :-D :-D

Dear Ann and London Belle

Good morning to you both.

I don't know what it is but it always seem to be on a Sunday that bad news comes.

I remember learning of the passing of Diana, Princess of Wales, Paula Yates,
Sir Terry Wogan and now Mr Des O'Connor.

Oh dear. I loved his shows. He was never nosey and the stars who were guests on his show read like a who's who of the entertainment world.

Does anyone remember the Stan Boardman interview!
Now, Des got into a lot of trouble over that.

Rest in peace, Mr O'Connor.

With respect and love
Elizabeth, EOS
xx
