Apparently, it transpires Trump has a pre-existing condition, and, under the new medical plan he wants to bring in, would be denied medical coverage.

It's nice to know that I'm still good at rumour control.

Remember, folks, that you read it on here first :-D :-D :-D

Armageddon.

On the US side of the pond it has been commented that covid victons often feel fine and can work during the first week - Johnson was like that. The problem is week two when the patient's health and energy can rapidly get much worse. One of the symptoms is "brain fog" and poor judgement.

Unlike all other covid patients with "brain fog" Trump's big fat finger is still resting on the nuclear button.

I have read a theory that being ill is better for Donald Trump's ego than would be resignation in the face of defeat.

It seems that some American broadcasters are already calling it fake news.

Sharron

Oh yes, of course. Them.

If Trump becomes incapacitated or departed the Pence will become acting president.

The Republicans would have to find another candidate in a hurry or lose by default - there is no way the Democrats would agree to any kind of delay. That candidate could be Pence but another may be preferred. Something pretty well like this has happened before.

Quite possibly the Republicans would win with a different candidate not tarred with Covid and assorted other problems. However the different Republican factions are very far apart.

The small voet swings ( sympathy for the devil v not a very strong man after all ) cancel each other out.

So, on balance, the best thing for the Democrats is that Trump makes a wobbly return to action of a sort in a few weeks time.

For the Republicans a future without Trump is probably the best they can hope for.

Think wishing an illness on someone even D Trump is not nice it may be true or untrue but we will never know the truth untill he is home or a state funeral is announced Barbara .

I have just been reading (BBC News) that Trump definitely has got Covid-19, and that several of his close aides and people who were at the Chief Justice Nomination Do, without masks, have all tested positive. I think there are 9 so far and going up.

Trump is also high risk - age 74, male and obese. I wouldn't want him to die, but I hope it makes him take it a bit more seriously.

I like one of the suggestions - that they delayed the announcement of Trumps positive result until Biden had done his. Presumably they hoped Biden would also come up positive and then could lay the blame on the Biden camp rather than the Trump camp.

Dermot if these political messiahs lips are moving you can be sure
they are lying through their teeth.

What a cheerful & an uplifting topic!

If they do have it, personally, I don't think it could have happened to a more deserving couple! :-D
Perhaps Trump should take his own 'bestest' advice - because he does give the best advice in the world - and try a gallon of hydroxychloroquine, and a few injections of disinfectant and bleach.

If he has got it, it will only be good for him politically - no more faux pas at talks etc,
and people will be sympathetic towards him.
If he hasn't got it, it's a good political ploy, in that he can't spout his whaffle etc., and people will be sympathetic towards him.

It's worked before for a certain person! :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 3 Oct 2020 11:33

I wonder if Donald Trump really does have Covid. Don't know why it would be a ploy that he is using but I am proud to say that I don't think like him, I hope!

Too true, Dermot, and anyway they're likely to lead us up the garden path judging from what's been going on this week.

The latest rule-breaker (Ferrier) is refusing to step down even though Sturgeon thinks she should do so and the police are investigating. To add to the charges, she also put public transport users at risk.

Brass necks with a sense of entitlement is what they are, I believe.

I would not want anyone with such a loose and woeful grasp on the rules representing me; thank goodness I am not in her constituency.

Dermot

Dermot Report 3 Oct 2020 07:32

Waiting for political messiahs to save us is futile.

JoyLouise

It's fake news, of course. :-S

Wait for it

President Trump does not have Covid19, or, he was deliberately infected by person or persons unknown. Probably the same ones who will manipulate any ballots to make sure that Mr Trump is not re-elected
