Resourceful! :-D :-D :-D

George's brother, Mister was excellent at catching (and eating)rats.
I'd come down in the morning and find the spine, tail and liver neatly laid out on the kitchen floor.

When he occasionally caught a bird (not very often), he'd bring it in to the kitchen, eat the breast then leave it.
Along would come (not so bright) George, who would then pluck the bird! :-|
He never ate any of it - just loved plucking.

His favourite place for doing this, was on the stairs. :-| :-|

One year we went on holiday and granddaughter came in every evening to feed our two cats
One mirsbelle was really a home girl wouldn’t venture too far from the garden and slept in overnight
The other moggy was a complete outdoor cat

Came home in the morning to feed and sleep and then eat and out for the evening and overnight

Granddaughter got worried because he was never around when she came to feed and she was concerned

Seems he may have come home and couldn’t get in so off he went

So the day after we got home he appeared one morning and was very laid back and not at all hungry

Later gardening found a rabbit head skull and fur tail in the bushes in the garden

He wasn’t hungry ,had fed oh fresh rabbit !

A food supply on the doorstep! :-D

We lived surrounded by fields when the girls were young.
One of our cats at the time, Basil, was good at catching rabbits, which he'd kill and leave.
One day, my youngest (about 2 at the time) found a fresh, dead rabbit - and was playing with it. She thought it was sleeping.
I took it off her and said it's mummy was looking for it, walked around to the other side of the house, and lobbed it as far as I could!

Maggie

He didn’t get the chance

It’s why I had the mesh screen made

It keeps the tortoise out too as she will pee and poop on the carpet if she gets in

My house is a 1960,s so kitchen at the front and lounge at the back with access to garden

We have open country very near with fruit orchards so it’s field-mice he is catching

Normally it’s sparrows he catches but has been small seagulls too as the medway estuary isn’t too far away

We often get the gull screeching over the house and fighting sparrows for food put out by neighbours

Look on the bright side, he's sorting out the mice, before they become a problem :-D

...and at least he didn't bring this one in!

Been locking him out since the mouse saga last week

He goes out and the door is shut or when the weather was hot the screen door was over the door opening and the patio door the only way to come and go ,that too closed when he went out and him checked before letting in

Soo today went out to check the tortoise and see if she was out and needed food . What was dead on the patio outside the patio door that opens??

Yep a dead mouse ,unfortunately with flies settling on it

So now I have to sweep up a corpse, even dead they Yuk me !

Little git is a hunter that’s for sure

Birds I can cope with and hopefully catch and release but mice is OMG
