What a lovely dog and it's great that both dogs are rescues.

Next rime I see her - which (hopefully) will be the 30th - I'll give her a tickle under the chin to see :-D

Here's something you need to know.

My late friends dad was a show shepherd and he told me that, if you are looking to buy a good herding dog, you need to feel under its chin.That little pimply thing under the chin needs to have three whiskers growing from it, not two.

Why this should be, I really don't know, but that is what he told me.

Marge doesn't herd, just does security checks!

I knew somebody who took over a retired cattle dog that herded her cats.

I'll know grand daughter will be safe walking her :-D
Sharron, she may train Marge to 'round up' her younger brothers!

Actually, my daughter's 'fella' 'F' has got himself a Romanian rescue too.
Apparently, she's a lot smaller than Marge (I haven't met her yet), but, unlike Marge hadn't been in foster, so was a bit nervous - but that didn't last long - not once she'd met my lot, and found the very comfy bed and toys 'F' had bought her!

The dog is having digestion problems, due to a change in diet, but 'F' has cut it down to just kibble, (with chicken 'occasionally' as a treat- very 'occasionally', I bet) and the vet has given him some medicine for her.
'F' hopes it clears up soon as Peggy isn't quite making it to the garden! :-(

Despite these slight setbacks Peggy - as she is called - and yes, I have pointed out that both 'Peggy' and 'Marge' are derivations of Margaret, and asked if I should be honoured, or never speak to them again - is getting on with life, and is happily learning tricks!

The dogs are often walked together and get on very well :-D

They got both dogs from 'A New Leash of Life'.

So now she will have to be getting a flock of sheep for it!

Looks a nice breed. As you said strange to meet another one in a small village area. Big dogs are lovely.

My grand daughter - 'B' has got a dog. <3
She's had the dog for 2 months now, but I only met her yesterday.
She saw the dog on a Romanian rescue dog site - and it had the same name as her!

She went to visit her (the dog had been in a foster home with her sister for a few months), and it was love at first sight - though the dog was slightly bigger than she thought.
Well, the dog's name had to be changed,and B has named her Nikita.
My daughter took one look at Nikita, and called her 'Large Marge' - the dog answers to both names, as they both mean cuddles and/or treats!

They assumed Marge was a mongrel - until my daughter saw another dog exactly the same, at a pub. She didn't get the chance to speak to the owner.
However, a few days later, whilst walking Marge, the owner she'd seen in the pub (this time minus his dog) came running up to her - to ask about Marge - where she'd come from etc.

Well it transpires 'Large Marge' will get larger.
She's a Carpathian Shepherd Dog! (not a Caucasian Shepherd dog - which is ridiculously huge)
The man was Romanian, and had moved to the UK - with his dog.

The weird thing is, my daughter (and grand daughter) live in a small village.
The chances of meeting someone with the same (unusual) dog are pretty slim - but in a small village?

I have to say, Marge is lovely! She's soft, gentle, but, apparently very protective!
So protective, that, when I walked in the gate, she sat down right in front of me, and wouldn't let me pass until I'd stroked her, let her lick my hand, and told her what a lovely girl she was <3
