No doubt we all sympathise with members who have had the misfortune to lose data from their Ancestry tree, not just records, but people too. However, there is nothing we can do except sympathise in these cases as the usual suggestions and observations don't work.

Safeguard your tree by making sure that you make regular backups of the tree from online sites using Gedcom (if you don't have Roots Magic or FTM2019,) it won't save the records, you have to download them separately, but you will have your tree. No need to open the Gedcom file, just download and save it somewhere you'll find it again. Here's how to do it from Ancestry:

Oh no!!!!!!

I've got all my records saved to memory sticks and I always do my GR and Ancestry trees side by side. Hopefully that will help. It wouldn't hurt uploading a copy to FMP too :-D :-D :-D

I'm not confident with other techie stuff
