Until I ran out of steam, OH and I were sorting out the freezers in the shed.It was like a chronology of my plot loss!

There were truly historical articles in there, including some fruit I think Fred might have picked and I think the digester cone might be planning to run away, only it is too full to move!

I will feel so much better when it is finished and it is another step forward like the cupboard under the staiirs and that took me ten months.

At least you won't have to worry about defrosting anything. :-D

Amazing what you find in the depth of a freezer.

We recently 'sorted' our chest freezer to see just what was in there.
Amongst the finds was a home-frozen vacuum pack of what we took to be white fish.
A few days later, daughter took out the pack to defrost and prepared mashed potato with herbs ready to make fish cakes.
.............except it wasn't fish.
I'm not 100% what it was. Daughter's best guess was white asparagus.
I have no idea who put it in the freezer or how long it had been there.

A tin of salmon was used for the fish cakes.

We used to keep ice-pops in the freezer for Fred's carers.

I found a few of those!

We have sorted out the indoor freezer today.

Oh, dear, there was a lot of out of date stuff in there, frozen good intentions on my part I think.

Of course it peeved me greatly to be throwing so much food I had spent money on (has the vapours) but I do feel so good about it.

It was a kind of jettisoning of a bit more of the breakdown..

Does anyone remember the good old days when we had fridges with the top shelf freezer?

It had to be defrosted manually. The water flowed everywhere!

You know we had a wet-room built by the council?

This was a very handy place to defrost our old upright freezer because you could get it in there and get the steamer on it and the water ran down the drain.

Now, when I say 'you', just remember that there is a lot of room in a wet-room, enough for a wheelchair to manoeuvre and have a guess who had to do the de-frosting!

We have a modern version of one - bought about 5 years ago. It is a tall integrated larder fridge a small freezer in the top accessed when the main fridge door is opened. OH suggested that the local supermarket, 2 minutes away, could do the storing for us. So far even in lock down it seems to have been sufficient. Does not seem to need much defrosting and its easy to find everything inside. Only down side is that at just over 5 feet tall I have to use my small hop-up to look inside!
