Always seems to me to be a lack of vocabulary knowledge. And the only problem is, when you really want to use the word you feel you can't because it has been so much overused.

"Doctor so and so is amazing" Really? I don't want to be 'amazed' I want a competent gp.

You'd think 'amazing' and 'stunning' were the only available words here - apart from the oft' used nasties

Is everything described as 'amazing'?

Maybe it is due to congenital cynicism (they don't call me Diogenes for nothing, although I don't have all of his less savoury habits!) but i don't spend my life now in a constant state of amazement any more than I ever did.
