A grand age.

Her sister was Joan Fontaine not Joan Crawford.

Olivia had the tenacity , courage and ability to break the Hollywood tied contract "star" system in 1943, permanently changing the industry and opening it to a vast array of talent which otherwise may never have been seen.

So for those who have never heard of "Gone With the Wind" but prefer "Kill Bill" or "Vainglorious Bastards" they benefit from de Havilland's victory.

Geoffrey de Havilland, her cousin, made aeroplanes.

Beautiful woman, she outshone her sister in looks but
Joan was the better actress in my opinion.

I don't think anyone's posted regarding her death in Paris at a grand old age. (But perhaps her name is not instantly recognised by our younger member.)

To me, on the other hand ......

Sister of Joan Crawford though not always on speaking terms.

Both always 'well turned-out' throughout a glamorous period in Hollywood.

RIP
