	Does it perhaps say, British by parentage ?

	If you are just going off the transcript, then check the image. It should be "by parentage", but the images were transcribed by people who may well have mis-read the handwriting Never ever take a transcription as proof, always try to check the image for any census! Some were transcribed by people in other countries who would not be native English speakers. But the transcribers always have to put what they see not even if they know it doesn't look correct.
	Researching: My brother, photo taken in September 1991 just a couple of weeks before he died. ............................................................ To help us and to get better results, please post as much detail as you can, especially name, date(s) and place. Also say what you already know.
