But I would like one for adults, a scooter that is, not to go on roads not motorised or race with but to go round shopping centres and some shops also that I can fold and put on the back set of my car, any recommendations anyone please?

Just because kids do doesn’t mean they are allowed to.

Thank you for responding, I just wanted one that I can literally scoot around shops because I can’t walk very far at all.

Others will know more, but aren’t there some very small lightweight mobility scooters (sit ons).
But you are unlikely to be able to use them in small shops.

Hubby had a Pride battery operated mobility scooter

He could ride on it around the supermarket but not local small shops

He would lock it up if he has to park it outside

It was easy for me to take apart and put in the car boot

Was very reasonable priced too

He paid just over £700 at the mobility section of Lloyd’s pharmacy

He had a light weight one a bit like the Jazzy one on the website

They are illegal on pavements here, as are roller skates.

Each are has its own by-laws.

Don't your shopping centres have disability scooters for hire? They did in Nottinghamshire, my father in law used them.

Yes Pat many do but I don't know if you need a blue badge to borrow one.

I think it is great that those who previously had no unassisted outdoor life by way of scooters are now able to have independence but to be honest I find some of the drivers are a menace. Many behave as if they have priority on the pavements.
As someone whose 'high street' confidence is low due to visual impairment I don't want adults (or kids) whizzing along on wheels expecting me to step aside for them and certainly not in shops.
Sorry but not everyones disabilities are obvious.

Hubby’s one wasn’t for use on the road but was ok to drive on the pavement

Hubby’s disability wasn’t obvious but he has Altzeimer with associated Lewy Body Dementia

It was the Lewy that caused his mobility and balance problems

He got increasingly dodgy on his feet and had falls

Eventually he wasn’t able to go out unassisted and only went to dementia day care once a week via a pick up in a people carrier with an assistant
