It is hot on the wire that DC will become Sir Dom in the New Year Honours.

We can only hope they don't go up Kathleen. We have just been to a medium sized garden centre. (We have twice been to our small local one and the restrictions there are great with one way arrows etc.) The one this morning was fine but that was really only down to only having a few customers, Anti bac at the door to use, all having a disinfected trolly and most of us being very 'alert' to social distancing. There was no one way system until the tills where waiting distances were marked off and the assistant is behing a screen. But I felt safe enough. We didn't go out at all for 9 weeks then went for a few walks, gradually building confidence.

I feel the government's advice is so unclear.

People round us have been really good with social distancing and following the rules (we have only been out twice a week for a walk and not been in a shop since early March), but we have noticed that since the Dominic Cummings carry on that a lot of people are now doing their own thing and going in and out of other people's houses when they shouldn't be doing that at all.

Our "R" number seems to be getting higher and I wouldn't be surprised to see infection rates going up again.

I doubt that NZ expect to keep their borders closed for very long but they will be careful. From what I have heard and seen the PM is a calm person who knows what she is doing. I wish I felt the same about ours. I know that the situation we have is an unknown and new to us all but the messages are so mixed and varied at times I feel they don't know if they are coming, going or just been.

New Zealand will not be able to keep its borders closed for very long. Tourism is over 7% of the economy in normal times supporting a large number of jobs and businesses.

We too have family over there, who have been telling us how things were going.

There seem to have been firm, clear instructions right from the start, which meant the situation was monitored and controlled so much better.

I agree Ann.

Their PM seems to have got things just right. My sister lives over there and says the PM is very popular.

The only restriction now in New Zealand is that the borders are still closed which seems sensible.

If only our government had as much sense!

are completely out of lockdown, well done to them. And well done theirPM for the strict measures she took from the start.
