Well !!

I was just musing that being on your own and a bit challenged with mobility is challenging

Didn’t expect to be told at 83 I am being stupid to listen to the warning to be careful as being older makes me more vulnerable in that if I catch it it could be harder to get through it

Don’t need the lecture to ignore what has been advised .

Even if I could safely get out I can’t walk far anyway without needing to stop and sit for a while .

Just hope though all this sitting around so doesn’t affect my quality of mobility was what I was saying

Hey ho

Shirley - just had a thought! (no applause needed :-D)
Have you got, or could your daughter, get you a pedometer?
That way, you could stroll around the garden, and try and increase the number of steps you make, every day, thus ensuring enough (or slowly increasing) exercise!

Fingers crossed that you get your new knee when this is over.

Maggie
I have an I watch that measures your steps and how many time’s you stand and flashes up reminders to stand and move around for a minute

Most times I do it but sometimes I am in the middle of look ups and don’t want to lose my train of thought

Sometimes I feel I am getting lazy though and think I will do that job tomorrow Can’t be bothered today

It’s all a matter of motivation :-)

I have to say that I'm glad that I am not in the England where Rollo seems to get all his information.

I'd be dead long ago!!

Like Shirley, I'm worried just a little bit about the lack of exercise that I'm getting as I too cannot walk far without having to stop, and have been unable to get the regular physio that I need to help me. But otherwise I am just fine with the new rules and regulations that we have here .........

those over 70 strongly advised to wash your hands frequently, stay home, social distance, stay safe

Which is EXACTLY the same advice being strongly advised for those UNDER the age of 70.

Some very small (!!!!) pieces of advice for Rollo ..........

stop reading online/print media/wherever so much garbage information.

Get your information from only one or two well-informed sources

Stop posting doom and gloom on here

You'll slowly drive yourself ............. and us! ............ crazy if you keep on reading and passing on the information that you have been doing for weeks and months.

I would point out to Rollo in particular, that Canada so far is in a far better position than either Britain OR France, let alone the US, but I've not offered any more information on this site than the ones I posted above. Which, I think is exactly the same as suggested for you guys ............ except we started before the first case was even diagnosed in BC, Ontario and Alberta were behind the game.

I think a lot of us feel unmotivated, Shirley - no matter what our age!
I have spent far too long decorating!
What I have done over the past 2 weeks would have taken me less than a week before - but there's no rush, as no-one's coming round :-D :-D

Good afternoon,

From someone who is now living on their own I am thankful that I can sit outside and chat with countless neighbours when I feel the need.

If I was shut in a high rise flat I'd go crazy very quickly. Plus I have family visit and yes they come in to the house!

Oh and just one correction to RTR's monologue - most people do NOT trust Google, once they find the tracking on their smart phones or find adverts targeted for consumables they have discussed with the phone within 'ether earshot' they learn PDQ that data has been harvested without their consent.
