The military are involved in all sorts of ways at the moment, from the medics to logistics and also being on standby for the emergency services I think. Although nice to have the salute it is not relly necesary in the current climate. And may also draw crowds out into the London streets which is not desirable.

You do realise the queen ordered it and she's the boss ;-)

The soldiers are busy and out here they have been ordered to self distance. Some service personnel who have just arrived have had to self isolate. There has been a few ill with the virus.

There are not the huge number of soldiers anymore and the queen knows it. She has watched the numbers half in the last 30 years.

The majority of single service personnel have private bunks not big open rooms like they used to.

Why not ?

The soldiers are probably based together and not self distancing so no reason not to do the gun salute

As long as it’s not a health hazard then can’t see why it can’t go ahead

What about the soldiers, distancing may be a problem. They are helping out wherever needed at the moment.

It is deemed inappropriate to do at this time but I think not, I think it would cheer us all up, we have a great royal family and we should celebrate the Queens age.
