She is alright for electricity. She won't run out.

It is just a matter of humouring her until we are let out again.

Sharron, a thought just struck me. I seem to remember our government/power companies stating that there will be an easing of restrictions for those who rely on keys.

Sorry, I can't quite remember the details but I do recall something was mentioned about it.

I'm glad she remembered £60 is a lot of money.

If they are very careful, cover up, sanitise etc could they not pop in and do a check. Also, don't any of them have any idea how much she usually uses?

Had my £60 back this morning!

She called her son and his partner to top up her electricity key yet again, bit obsessive I think, and asked them to get my money out at the cash point.

Unfortunately, they can't come in to read her meter and she can't see it so she will just have to keep putting all she has on the key.

So are we, hence the delivery slot I am prepared to share.

I know how you feel Sharon.
I too have mug written on my forehead.
But hey ho I will still help others whenever I can although at this moment in time we are in isolation for 12 weeks so cant really help anyone.

I pay the wonderful Lucy each time she shops for me, by bank transfer.Next door, who has lived next to me for fifty odd years only had thirty-five pounds cash for her electricity and, as the lovely Lucy had to learn to top it up, I asked her to put sixty on and know I will get it back. After all, I know where she lives!

A for the supermarket deliveries, you can opt for delivery to another address.The money can all be transferred around on-line and I know the man with the mother uses my internet signal to place the order anyway.

We began to share when we got a delivery slot in March, Sharron.. It used to be four (my daughter, her neighbour, my neighbour and me) but another of my daughter's neighbours has joined in too so we are now a happy little band of five.

It seemed to make sense to us.

No filthy lucre changes hands. The settling-up time will come when lockdown is finished. :-D

Caring is more than sharing; it can be survival itself and a hell of a nice feeling to boot.

Thanks to all Good Samaritans everywhere, the NHS is currently just about managing to survive in the current unsettling times.

A friend of mine uses her delivery slot to shop for three other families.

There are not that many slots available and they all need to be serviced. I won't be using mine every week and I doubt they will be theirs. Sharing with neighbours will make the service available to more people who need it .

It is not goodness, it is practicality.

Likewise, my car, it benefitted from a run two or three times a week and he needed to get to his part-time job.

Unfortunately the world on the whole is a very selfish place Sharron. I sometimes wonder why I bother to help and support folk but that is just the way I was bought up. So many I have helped have s***t on me when they have used me for their own ends.

Never mind the good in Sharron What about the thoughtless self-absorption of Sharron's neighbours?

Just cannot be bothered with anybody else.

Do you remember that I was very upset when Fred went to have his cataract operation and I asked a neighbour for whom I had provided help quite recently if he wouldn't mind not drinking that afternoon in case I needed to go to Worthing hospital for some reason. I felt that I was too wound up to be driving and he refused.He was quite nasty about it and I have not really had anything to do with him since although he has tried to be friendly a couple of times.

Anyway, times are very different at the moment and he ha an elderly mother so I rang him yesterday to ask if they would like to use one of my Sainsbury slots. No thanks, they had just had a Sainsbury delivery. thanks for sharing, mate..

The woman next door is partially sighted and I jumped through hoops to get her meter key topped up by the lovely Lucy who is doing my shopping. I paid for the the top-up because it was more convenient to do so. Rang her to tell her the key was back on her door-step and she said she was just waiting for an Asda delivery her son had ordered. this is the woman who would not let me finish my washing in her machine when mine broke down or use her outside toilet when the double glazing fitters were in my bathroom, after I had let her husband use my car for two years to get to work when I was not using it.

Do, I have "MUG" tattooed on my head? Probably, but I can't not give support where it is needed even if they can.

I think I probably have a nest of selfish people around me, most are related in some way On a Thursday evening, we can hear the noise coming from the village, down the road, as we maintain our lonely vigil of clapping while one or two distant others join in while my immediate neighbours sit comfortably in front of the tele.
