We have finally contacted Sainsbury's and are able to get a delivery, so I have placed an order.

It seems that they are happy for people to shop for others and my mate shares her slots with her daughter whose doctor has not had time tie write the letters. My lovely lady who does my Aldi shop for me says she is happy to carry on with this so I have decided to share my slots with those in the village who might need shopping and can't get a delivery. i can have one slot a week.

The really big worries were the cat meat (huge priority) and my tea because I am dangerous without it.

Sadly, the cat is in a decline because Aldi don't seem to have the cheap meat at the moment and he has to have the better one which is not entirely to his taste. Even worse, somebody got me a big box of Felix which we have not yet been brave enough to offer him.

Not being picky in any way at all, I don't drink coffee and only really like Yorkshire loose tea, tea bags taste of tea bags. We have gone straight to Betty's and are having quite a large delivery so that is just about it. Lockdown, bring it on!

Sharron - I know one lady who shares your opinion of Yorkshire loose tea. ;-)

Sharron, there were four of sharing deliveries until yesterday, now there are five. We have formed a mini co-op!

My daughter, two of her neighbours, my neighbour and I all order for each other when we get a slot.

I have, at last had a Sainsburys delivery but relied on Iceland (whose deliveries I used in the 1990s) and especially Waitrose who contacted me by email as I am well over 70. They also offered me an alternative ordering method which I shall use next week.

Strangely, my daughter has gone through various channels and has had no trouble in getting several deliveries so all five households have been able to benefit.

This crisis can bring out the best and the worst in people, don't you think?
