I have only seen the young un when he walks the dog past ours some evenings at about 9.30. They stand on the footpath and chat - with me on our doorstep. He has created a couple of quizzes for me to do online through a quiz site which is fab. They (daughter, her OH and the young un), granddtr and her partner and we also do Jay's Thursday night quiz. We use both iPad and mobile so we can see each other and chat while it's on.

He has also been making planter boxes using, as his Dad put it, big lad's stuff - power tools. He's done a decent job from photos they've sent ... but he is keen on carpentry. Guitar lessons ongoing via FaceTime.

Homework being done but not much during what would have been normal school holidays.

Are you seeing your grandchildren from a distance too? It's good but not the same as physical contact is it?

I watched Trump last night...for the second night in a row no real mention of thanks to all the front line workers...or any mention of the people that have died or their families. Shameful!!!

I tell you something, my mansion has never been so clean! I'm looking for dust now, something is going terribly wrong. You know with the social distancing I have had to let the cleaner go. The gardener is still in the grounds, and very nice it looks too. The knot garden is coming along a treat!

Alas I forgot my hot cross bunnies. Wasn't til I was half-way home I remembered. Never mind, next time. Now that you can get them all year round, it doesn't seem to matter so much. :-(

I have 26th too, and another entry for 30th. :-D

Earlier this month it was my daughter's and sister's birthday on the same day and I was instructed not to bother with cards this time. Duly noted - we Whatsapped with birthday wishes. (We often Whatsapp anyway.)

I boobed several days later when I rang a retired colleague to wish her a happy birthday because I am not sending cards but rather a phone call or text. We chatted a short while before she said that her birthday was not for a few days!

So for umpteen years I had transferred the wrong date from the old diary to the new. :-S

It is another friend's birthday next week so she will get a phone call and will understand why this year is different.
