An early postal delivery - odd 'cos we don't usually get anything on a Tuesday, and it had the letter. All I've got to do now is read it. ;-)

Harswell is not the only one being missed out:

Our letter from Boris came today.

We have only ever had one postman delivering and at the moment it is still the usual one.

Harswell

I hope that, in the nicest sense of the phrase, that your OH was told where to go.

I also hope that you have tracked down local groups or council that are there to help now.

Have you tried any of the local small shops. If they aren't dropping stuff off they may know the groups that are.

Keep strong

New cannulas received from my oxygen suppliers this morning.Real service!!!!!
Doctors said that it was not their job to inform of vunerable people. NHS CRAP.
Why are NHS workers wearing their uniforms to go shopping and then going into work to infect others.????
At 1 minute past midnight I got onto my nearest supermarket and all the delivery slots for that day in 3 weeks time were taken. How?
Enough of my gripes for today,
Stay safe everyone.

We have alerts on our phones telling everyone to stay home, it's the same system they use to warn for weather issues or missing kids.

Many thanks for the kind advice I have been given. Nearly everyone living around us is either in the 70/80 year age group and it is a small community in east Yorkshire. we should be OK in the next few days as our son and daughter in law who live in the Lakes have arranged to get supplies to us and collect our medication.
My wife will get onto our GP tomorrow as I am on oxygen 24 hours a day and cannot walk any distance.
Being brought up in the 40s/50s we know how to survive.
Stay safe everybody.

I have found Waitrose to be the best, followed by Iceland.

Waitrose emailed me direct as they knew I was over 70. Delivery two days after order went in and Iceland delivery was two days after order too although quite a few items unavailable at Iceland.

Tesco, Asda, Morrisons nowhere. M and S the worst - not delivering at all. SAinsburys has dragged its feet and only able to get a slot today yet they offered three people in their early-70s and younger than me a slot three weeks ago.

Waitrose was superb. The Waitrose delivery guy asked me to go to the window so he could see my face - proof enough that I am over 70 - as I look it. He gave me a contact name and number so I could ring in future orders in and have them delivered within a couple of days. Only one item missing, six substitutions were fine.

My daughter, her neighbour, my neighbour and I are sharing - if one of us gets a slot we ring the others to ask whether they'd like anything ordered then use doorstep or porch for pick up and drop off.

No letter here either.

To be truthful I hate getting mail now.

I don't know how Boris can justify sending out letters. In my opinion, he needs to record something to be broadcasted every day for a week then intermittently on radio and television, morning noon and night instructing (not asking) people to stay at home. Some people need it hammered into them under threat of severe penalties.
