I think under 70s without health problems or pregnancy can go to the shop (not continually though) and out and about but not meet in groups, visit pubs or restaurants.. The over 70 group without health problems can go out to exercise but must stay at least 6 foot away from people and not go to shops. That is how I interpret it but no doubt it will change as we progress.

Hermits have no problem with continuous isolation.

I understand that _ currently at least! - there is a division called social isolation which would allow you a drive to the beach!

Yep though ideally you still keep your distance....you all need a barge pole stick your money and list on the end and stick it into the shop door.

I think we're still allowed out to buy provisions, too!

Unless you're sick or exposed to someone who is sick self-isolation stops you getting the virus, hence walking outside can be done as long as you keep your distance and no one coughs on you. My mum is going to be one of those go and sit in the car looking at nature people on a nice day, changes the view from 4 walls. Obviously don't all park right next to each other either. :-)

English Heritage have closed their buildings too but the open spaces are still ok to visit

Well, a police state hasn't arrived - yet! :-D
Also, not everyone is at home because they have to self-isolate.
Many people (and more to come) are at home because their employer has closed the business.

Eh!!!

I don't think it is self-isolation.

How long before a group of oldies is rounded up from one of their sites and sent into enforced isolation?

I made a comment to dtr about taking a drive and sitting, perhaps on the cliff tops away from others.

'You'll feel like an ignorant divvy when the police car pulls up next to you and has to order you home,' says she. :-D

The National Trust say:
"We're aiming to open many of our gardens and parks for free during this difficult time, so the nation can use open spaces to relax and refresh, while following the government’s social distancing guidance. We will be closing our houses, cafés and shops this week."
