I don't need am alarm anymore but OH uses his phone as one and it plays a jingly little tune that sounds like the ice-cream man

You really don't want to be waking up deciding whether you want a flake or not.

I'd wake up thinking it was about 4:30pm - the time the ice cream van comes around! :-D

I don't want to be woken up..... Full stop.

I hate alarms of any sort and have probably only set one for about 4 times in the last 50 years.
I don't need to wake at a particular time now, but even when OH was working in London, we could both wake by 5 a m without need for an alarm.

I too can wake by 5am.
In fact, as I get older, I find I'm waking up at 3am as well :-|
A long trek is then required to the bathroom, which is diametrically opposite my bedroom - downstairs! :-(

As a result - I have 3 alarms - all on the clock radio!

we have a clock/radio ,alarm set for 0759,am

when that goes off a voice in my other ear says...what day is it? are we going out today, are you cooking for lunch?

repetitively.....
