We called a halt on Christmas presents a few years ago, much better to be honest than pick over what's acceptable and what's 'unwanted'. Our suggestion was welcomed with relief by all - there comes a time when you just don't need more 'stuff'.

My late mother in law put stickers on all none family presents and put the name of the person who gave it to her. She then recycled them all by giving them as presents to someone else.

We haven't given gifts within the family for many years, now the family is much depleted, and the few 'young ones' get money. So no unwanted items!

Well we took the tree down today and packed all the decs etc away for another year.
I went through the cards and cut some into nice tags and hole punched them to use next time.

I have a box with unwanted gifts from several years ago and this year added a couple more things I really wont use or need.
Daughter is a Befriender and decided that when they have the next fundraiser event, we can donate these presents either to sell on a stall or for the tombola.

I do give a lot away to charity shops but daughter thought this would be a different way to recycle and raise some money for a worthy cause.

Does anyone else give their unwanted gifts away to someone other than a charity shop?
