I have just seen on the news that the University of Southampton is building a full sized replica of the Sutton Hoo ship using traditional shipbuilding techniques.

This is a bit before my real interest but relevant and I have told OH he is going to have to go and see it.

He has already had the pleasure of going to Weymouth (100 miles each way) just to see a carrack, which was a bit late for my real interest.

We have kept meaning to go to Woodbridge to see it but have not got there yet :-D. As a friend has moved quite near there we may see it when we go and visit

I went to Suffolk many years ago on a genealogical trek, and went to see Sutton Hoo - but it was closed to the public at the time :-(
