I'm back!

The trip was great, no problems on the trains in either direction. Lots of snow and some very cold temperatures, especially on the Prairies and northern Ontario, but Halifax (and Vancouver) were both green and (mostly) warm ........... there were 2 cold days in Halifax, one went as low as -10C, but that was nothing compared to the close to -30C on the Prairies. The train was cosy and warm :-D :-D

The time with family was a little sad as their almost-17 year old cat was failing fast. He'd been quite healthy until a couple of weeks earlier when he began to eat very small amounts of food and to sleep a lot. They left some food out all day so he could snack when he wanted. He also walked as though his hips/back legs were arthritic, but he didn't seem in pain. He spent several hours sleeping on my knee on our last day there (Boxing Day). Daughter took him to the vets this morning (Saturday) and he was put to sleep as he had started to show signs of kidney failure. His sister had to be put to sleep just before Christmas 2018 when she went into kidney failure.

He's going to be cremated, a was his sister, then daughter says they will bury them together in their garden.
