Yesterday I purchased two items in a local stationers in Bunbury, one of which was a refill for my desk calendar.

This morning I discovered that in my haste I had bought the wrong refill. My calendar is the flip-over type with the holes at the top of the pages.

In my haste I hade bought one with holes in the side.

Took it back this morning to exchange it. No problems except that the store did not have any of the correct type in stock, so I got a refund.

My purchase yesterday was made by debit card and the cost was $2.98, the refund was in cash which gave me $3.00.

A profit of a whole two cents. :-D :-D :-D :-D

I'm not going to go into the practicality of driving a round trip of about 24 kms, and the cost of the petrol for the trip, all I know is that I'm two cents in pocket :-D :-D

Think the best I ever did was refunds on a TV and a beer special offer.

We had a TV from a supermarket and when it was almost 3 years old it exploded and caught fire, which quickly went out, only the TV was damaged. We got a full refund of our money.

OH worked away from home during the week and on Saturday enjoyed a couple of bottles of bitter. I went shopping in a well known supermarket and saw there was a special offer - buy 4 bottles of mixed breweries specialised bitter for the price of 3. OH liked all 4 so I bought 8 bottles of beer - 2 free. I always check my bill before leaving a shop - no refund, I had been charged for all 8. Customer service lady checked the special offer by going to the aisle and checking the wording of the notice. She phoned someone and queried it, then told me it was their mistake the special offer hadn't been entered into the computer. Lady apologised, told me to keep the beer and refunded me the money for all 8 bottles of beer.

OH liked the beer so following week when I was shopping I bought another 8 as special offer was still on. Guess what?

I got 16 bottles of beer for nothing :-D :-D but how many people missed the fact that the offer wasn't being linked to the tills and they were paying full price :-S
