I consume rather too many fig roll biscuits. I figure they count towards my 5 a day, f you'll excuse the accidental pun!

Sounds good Bob.

Dtr came in a couple of weeks ago with a jar of Fig Paste with Honey for us, otherwise called Pate de Figues au Miel or NAZTA ZYKOY (can't be bothered to find Greek letters on keyboard). :-D

It is very tasty.

Sounds interesting Bob. I hope it turns out to your liking.

I well remember when I made elderberry chutney, wanting to make use of the plentiful supply growing wild near here. I was sure I could detect the vinegar aroma weeks afterwards, so embarked on a full scale spring-clean out of season to rid the curtains and everything else of the awful smell.

The chutney was OKish, but I asked the family to remind me of the smell, if ever I had similar bright ideas.

It's obvious that all the figs on my tree would not ripen, so I have picked them all and made chutney. Too early to say what it will end up like as it needs to mature for a month before using. Wife not best pleased, it has stunk the house out!
