Sentimental old fool that I am, I found the handling of Compo's funeral tonight (on Drama) very moving. The cast also seemed to be genuinely upset.

Bob, Compo died 2 or 3 days before that episode was screened.

If you watch the previous episodes you could see how ill he was.

Yes, I thought it was sad how ill he was. They have now introduced his real life son Tom, who is, how can I put this? not the best of actors. I know these are all repeats and I have seen most of them, but they still have me belly-laughing.

Bob, I remember watching the Compo character way

back thinking he looks ill, then later seriously ill.

His fellow actors would have been aware.

Then suddenly, he and his character dies. Their grief was real.
