Getting back to old habits.

We were invited to a quiz in the next village on Thursday. A local lady is a member of the WI who were running it and, naturally, it was well over-catered.

They had no plans for the left-overs so I took them.

So, now I have two bowls of bread soaking for bread pudding and there is a big pan of lettuce and pea soup on the hob.

Yes, today we will eat lettuce and pea soup. That's a trick to impress if you can pull it off!

The soup was, and there is still some left for tomorrow when the bread puddings are cooking.

It was very easy, I just sweated a couple of onions in butter and olive oil, added the chopped lettuce, frozen peas. Cooked them in some green Oxo stock with a drop of white wine, some mint and some mint sauce and black pepper.

Did it with the whibbigizzer and put it through a sieve.

Yum,yum,yum.
