Good Day!. I trust everyone is well.
After a beautiful weekend, the sun hasn't come out to play today.
Spoilsport!!

I recently read about William Simons' sad passing.
He was definitely one of the most likeable characters in Heartbeat as P.C. Alf Ventress, methinks.
I have never seen him in other TV shows, however.

For those of you who like(d) Heartbeat, you might - just might - get a chuckle from this ...

Please click on the map reference below - it's for Bellamy Road (north and south), the name of Alf's pal and colleague (Phil Bellamy).
When the map appears, slowly move it downward until you come to County Road 2 (east and west in yellow).
Zoom in and carefully look at the name of the road immediately north / top of County Road 2 into which Bellamy road becomes.
Quite a remarkable co-incidence indeed, I think you'll agree.

BTW. this area is in Colborne / Cramahe, Ontario. It's about 150 km (92 miles) east of Toronto.
When I first saw these two names many years ago I meant to stop and take a photo, but like so many things we mean to do, I regrettably never did.
It's quite a long time since I drove passed here, too.
I still recall chuckling about these two names together when I first saw them ... which (surely) means nothing to anyone else, of course.
Little things ...!
Oh, well.
Ciao.
Barry

I too enjoyed watching Heartbeat. Recently saw the episode where he was a Lord and Oscar was his chauffeur. That gave him a chance to show a different side to the put-upon character.
R.I.P

Did we ever know his wife's name in that series? I only remember hearing her referred to as Mrs Ventress and don't recall seeing her at all.

Not a watcher of Heartbeat but saw him in lots, Cribb's sidekick and Inspector Alleyn Mysteries come to mind. He was a good character actor who cropped up all over the place.

RIP <3

R.I.P. William Simons, who played the character of P.C. Alf Ventress in Heartbeat for eighteen years. :-(
