Trying to get somewhat back to the point, or at least to a couple of comments regarding Party Leadership.

This argument has cropped up over the last couple of elections in Australia following our 'revolving door' series of Prime Ministers of either Party.

Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your point of view, the electoral system here, as in the UK is that you vote for the person or party that you would like to see in government.

Each Party elects from amongst its elected members a person to lead it.

That person then becomes Prime Minister, or the Leader of the Opposition, depending on the voting public.

However, the public generally have no say in who becomes the actual leader, that rests with members of that party, whether elected or not.

Do I now use a scowly face, or a smiley face? :-S

Apparently, being nice to each other or to our political representatives on these threads is no longer enough to avoid being repeatedly reported. ;-)

Island Report 23 Jun 2019 15:10

I agree re the neighbours recording Boris and GF having a ding dong - how creepy is that? Then passing it on to the media :-0 :-0 It's a bit like people noseying into threads without comment but posting on the subject on their own thread which is about something completely different. Creepy.

Well that's interesting Madge because my health has nothing at all to do with Boris either! oh but some like to make up their own rules.

I'd like a dragon emoticon too, perhaps we should ask GR - I'm sure they'd find one for us :-) I suppose there isn't an eye roll one because it would get worn out :-D

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 23 Jun 2019 14:54

Same in Scotland Barbra, we did not get a vote on
choosing the First Minister.

Same thing with T May resigning and Alex Salmon resigning
their party chooses the replacements.

Madge

Madge Report 23 Jun 2019 14:54

It said our posts had nothing to do at all about Boris or the new leadership or something like it.... :-\ :-\

Island

Island Report 23 Jun 2019 14:52

The people vote for the party, the party vote for their leader. It's always been the case.

Ooh what did the RR post say Madge? :-D

Barbra Report 23 Jun 2019 14:46

Politicians should not decide our New PM put it to the Country. It's a total sham we have to put up with Rules & regulations its our lives Childrens future grandchildren the homeless poor family's & Middle earners. The rich get richer pit money abroad Ministers included.not A Labour Voter but something has to change sick of being in a country were our voices are not heard

Madge

Madge Report 23 Jun 2019 14:46

I think the Boris's neighbours passing the tape recording on the papers is very sickening, first of all for someone to tape you having a row is worrying but to tape it and then possbile "sell it" on to the media is worse what utter scumbags.

I would love a dragon emoticon :-D

Just so everyone knows I reported Babs post about me and Island ;-)

Island

Island Report 23 Jun 2019 14:43

Cut it out Barbra. Smileys aren't against T&Cs.

Rambling Report 23 Jun 2019 14:37

:-D

So to Boris, why did he not just reply to questions

" We had a row, everyone does sometimes, a few thinks got smashed a few choice words were shouted. Thank you to the neighbours for reporting it as we 'might' have been being attacked by terrorists for all they knew"...and then move silkily on to another question. :-D

Rambling Report 23 Jun 2019 14:24

So Island smiling at Madge and Madge smiling at Island is now reported! :-S :-S :-S

Madge

Madge Report 23 Jun 2019 14:22

I actually do agree with Barbs that it should be the country to elect a new leader but as normal us the tax payer have very little say.
