Quite embarrassing

I go to a coffee morning on a Tuesday at the local Dobies garden centre with the local U3A group I belong to

We were sitting chatting and I suddenly saw across the restaurant a guy dressed like my hubby ,same height, same grey hair and style and facially very similar

I had to double take and couldn't take my eyes off him

Felt my throat gulp then my eyes well up and even though I tried to contain myself I just couldn't

Had a cry and had to take my glasses off and try to contain myself

Think I may have concerned the others there and had to say sorry if I embarrassed

It's times like that suddenly floor you

Strange how you plod along and suddenly something happens that puts you off kilter

I thought I was doing ok and accepted he had gone but it's still there bubbling there under the surface

I have surprised myself just how much losing him has affected me

Well we had met when I was 18 and he was 21 and had been married for 58 years so he was part of me <3
