Out this morning. Early afternoon coffee with Dtr when she had a late lunch then ... a very lazy afternoon. Started to watch A House through Time (Newcastle one).

Family Bibles are to be treasured, our went missing a few years back. Sad isn't it?

A family bible, how fab.

I have the small bible my Mum carried with flowers at her wartime wedding and inside are dried petals from those flowers - but OH has a fantastic big family bible complete with births, deaths and marriages entered and some beautiful pictures. It covers a few centuries and came across with his Irish ancestors. It is gorgeous and has been well looked after.

Dtr was given a small one that also came from OH's Irish ancestors. It was given from one brother to another in the early-1800s as a present. Again, well cared for with a brass hinge and the inscription in copperplate writing.

All are lovely to have. <3

Just got in after coffee, shopping then lunch with a pal who's going through the wringer at the moment. <3

Found out that the young un's cricket has been changed from Sunday mornings to Wednesday evenings because of a switch in age groups. Rats, I liked Sunday mornings sitting with a coffee along the riverbanks......

..... however, he's now rowing on Sunday mornings at the club along from the cricket club. Not quite the same though because you can't just sit and watch him as he goes along the river and out of sight. I am under instructions not to follow him along the riverbanks - as if I could keep up, because he goes like the clappers and I ain't Speedy Gonzales!
