Very interesting reading Rollo! With the age gap between my parents I could never understand how they could have met at school as I was told, but they clearly could if you stayed at the same school all through. |

For state and church sponsored schools 11. The cut off was 1 September. |

You either took the exam (later the 11+) and went to Grammar School at about 11, or you stayed where you were until the school leaving age. which was 14. |
