Unless someone can come up with a different idea, you could access the 1911 census, but only on Scotlandspeople. |

Birth regs on Scotlandspeople don't show mothers maiden name. If they moved there shortly after their marriage, it would be difficult to work out which, if any, are their children. |

Thanks for all your help. The Grantham one is not the right one. However, most of the rest are spot on. Thank you. I will get the certificate for the 1964 death, and see what clues it yields. It does look as if John and Irene did not have any children, but I will keep searching. |

The only addition to the marriage notice is that Irene's parents lived at Fishergate-hill, Preston. |

I am looking for relatives of John M Haythorn, born 1904 in Cathcart, Glasgow. His father was James, and his wife Irene, nee Jackson. He was an extremely talented automotive engineer, producingg several innovative motor cycle engines, personally. The family moved to Preston, where John worked for Centric Superchargers, later to become Shorrock Superchargers. I cannot find any trace of him after the war, and would like to find out what happened to him. I am a keen motorcyclist, and would like to ensure that John Haythorn is not forgotten. Colin |
