Mr M, right up my street.

I do swing and Lindy Jazz (with a little Charleston and a few ballet movements thrown in for good measure) once or twice a week and all of the people in my class are a happy, gregarious bunch. Our sessions are a joy and at the end of each one we are all perspiring but elated. I find it uplifts the soul. (We have a couple of good singers in the family who would say the same about singing.)

I have to say that dancing is in my family's blood.

I wear my ancient jazz ballet shoes that, although they are dropping to bits, are so comfortable I am hoping they'll 'see me out' - but I am not at all sure that they will do so. I'd love to say that I've bought a new pair. :-D :-D :-D

I must admit, though, that my tap shoes are almost like new. Now and then, I'll try but I am not as good as my older cousin who, until a year or so ago, still tapped every week.

(By the way, I'd bet you've seen our teacher on telly - a type of community clip before programmes. She is a fab, straightforward teacher and brilliant dancer with more strings to her bow than dance.)
