I agree with you, Sylvia.

I think some adults occasionally present children with the 'Arfer or Marfer' dilemma, unnecessarily creating conflict within the child's being where before there was none.

She has apparently told friends the child will be raised with a "fluid approach to gender", no "gender stereotyping"

If that means no pink for girls/blue for boys, or trains only for boys/dolls only for girls ......great!

If it means treating the child as if it is not either sex ....... yuk!

I feel that she is using the 'royal' stage to help promote herself and her own wants and beliefs, which is not really the purpose or place of royalty however good the causes may be to some. She's copying Diana in some things, but is it because she saw how popular it made Diana and wants some of the same? Why not plough her own furrow so to speak. It isn't politic either to be spending so much more than her SIL, the Queen in waiting. Harry is at her side and in the throes of love just now, but I just see trouble ahead.

Meghan isn't shy or camera shy and knows how to work the press ,shes appeared scant in underwear and also naked in Suits,and there are thousands of photos out there of her,even her first marriage the press was invited,

...…..,,,,,,I hope poor old Liz and the duke hasn't seen any clips from that show as they will need an oxy-tank... :-D :-D.

You're quite correct, Sylvia, although I will reserve my judgement on whether Diana was such an innocent from the beginning :-)

there is one huge difference between Diana and Meghan ........

....... Diana really was a sweet innocent young girl when she first married Charles. I doubt she knew what she was letting herself in for .............. but she learnt to manipulate the media for her own ends.

Meghan was a Hollywood starlet who had to manipulate the press into paying attention to her and make it seem to others in the industry that she was well known, well liked and followed by the public, or she might not get more jobs. In other words, she had to "sell herself".

She hasn't learnt not to manipulate the press, but to let the Palace press dept do it for her .......... witness the "5 friends" interview, and the fact that she didn't exactly hide herself in NY.

There's lots of things being published in the press, in the UK and over here, that could only have come from her or from a close "friend", the kind of stuff that so-called celebrities like the Kardashians let out ................ like arrangements for the birth, having a birth doulah, things that are being done to the house that's being renovated, etc.

Totally agree with you Barbra.

Whether the publicity is public generated or generated by Megan herself, it's difficult NOT to see her name in the various publications.

It's very reminiscent of the publicity given to the late Princess of Wales. I just hope that there is a happier ending for Megan.

you might, and I might, buy a certain newspaper because we like that paper, prefer its viewpoint to other papers, because we're used to it, have it delivered to the door

but many more people buy a paper or magazine on the spur of the moment. Why else do you think the racks near the till in any grocery store, newsagents, etc etc has the latest "celebrity news" on full display ......... right where a customer can see it while they have their money out?

That stroking and cradling of the "bump" has been causing me to gag! Plus the media's "stunned in her outfit today".

Buck house press dept release dates to the media so they can cover the event,,,,,and its only usually for official fuctions,,,at present it was Catherine & William in Belfast for some cause.so any media coverage is down to the royals press dept.


Although the bump hasn't been hidden by disguise clothes like has been a *thing* within the royal family &bet Lizzy has gulped a few times, :-D and the constant teenage like grabbing hands.will have caused a few raised eyebrows.

People buy their usual daily paper or weekly magazine and it's oh they are doing an article on Meghan again

I don't think they rush to buy a publications just because they are running yet another article on her

Yes they read what's published and maybe someone may see the article on the front cover of a magazine and buy it instead of another one but overall I really don't think in general people want to rush to read stories

It's not .in my opinion,supply and demand . It's more media publicity to try and sell more and to hell with what the effect it has on her and harry

the press (and other media) would NOT be publishing anything unless it was wanted.

People buy those papers and magazines just because there is something in there that they want to read ....... the photos and "come hither" suggestive comments on the cover is what sells the paper of the magazine.

So, you're wrong ............... it's the other way round ................... media take the photos because people want to see everything about a celebrity.

Britain and the Royal Family are finding out what it is like to have a celebrity who knows how to handle the press to get that publicity needed in her previous life.

She has to learn that isn't what her new role requires.

The media take the photos and sells them . It just for money and the newspapers buy the photo to publish and hope to boost their sales

No concerns at all on the effect false news has on them

we all live in such a different world to the Royal family I have not said about tax payers money or anything about friends paying for her trip to America .its just all the publicity surrounding every thing they do I think the press are very intrusive & come out with some rubbish remarks .but that's what the public want .shame Barbara

Even on a private trip to the USA for a baby shower put on by her friends she was followed and photographed and then critised for the expense

She went by private jet owned by friends Amal and George Clooney but was still accused of using tax payers money

Poor woman can't do anything without being criticised

I just hope this doenst eventually cause problems with her and Harry and with the larger royal family circle

HM gave her approval of the marriage and I just hope the media stop hounding her

Island why ? she has been an actress & been in front of the camera she does play the press .they are suppose to get photographed but I still think to much is being said by the media & suppose if you Marry into the Family it goes with the territory

Sadly she is being hounded by the media and can't do anything without being photographed and then being trashed by comments about her and her intentions of marrying Harry and about her holding her baby bump

Facebook gets lots of hate postings about her and criticisms about her hair , her clothes and supposed fall out with Catherine. That she is difficult to work for and staff have left . That has been discounted when the reason for staff moving on has been for other reasons

I get really annoyed with some of the things posted about her and often ask "you know her then "

I feel sorry for the lady to be honest . It must be awful to know that folks are dishing you without being able to defend yourself
