As maggie said .......... it has all been positive today.

Don't fret about it. Be proud of yourself!

No!
It's not as if you were just sat there (like I probably would have been) - you were being constructive and positive, in that you were 'doing' something.
The stuff is still there - more visible now it's out of the cupboard - you can still sort it - at your own pace.
Nothing negative about today - it all looks positive. Be proud! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Once I get the fingers going, I calm down but I really should have been sorting stuff out.

Only half a dishcloth? Well done!
Nothing like being constructively occupied! :-D :-D

Everything is out of the cupboard and the floor and shelf have been washed. M is planning to paint it and we are talking about ways of putting different shelving in.

Meanwhile, I need to go through everything, big job, and get it ready to go back in.

I didn't go upstairs but I have knitted half a dishcloth (my Valium) while it was all going on around me.

Take it slowly ....... and give yourself a treat afterwards, as maggie suggested.

Think how good you'll all feel afterwards! <3

I hope you have a tasty treat lined up as a reward. :-D

Both OH and I grew up in squalor. When my mother died, we took five trips to the tip in a Transit van with the accumulated content of this two bedroomed council house and his mother lives in a house that was built as a guest house with seven or eight bedrooms and the other necessary amenities. She and his brother and family have five or six rooms available for them to live in as he others are full ofGod knows what that she has stored away for them to clear out when she dies.

Anyway, we muddle by as best we can, learning as we go, and today, following my prolonged spell of utter uselessness and inability to face any job larger than peeling a spud, with the help of M (three wheeler, Polish living in the electricity sub-station) and Fred's mate, are going to clear out the cupboard under the stairs.

Truth to tell, I am panicking, feeling a bit sick but telling myself I am not facing this one alone, I have back-up and they have told me I can go upstairs for a while if I feel overwhelmed so I am being brave but I will be glad when it is done. The biggest thing I have tackled since I lost the plot.
