Lack of pillows in hospital....eh?

I was admitted again in the very early hours Monday. Thankfully 3 surgeons sorted my problem fairly swiftly and I escaped after 10 hours :-D

Whilst I was in the emergency department I asked for a pillow, they didn't have any. Now this was at 4.00 a.m. so the place wasn't exactly humming.

Had to make do with a rolled towel and a pillow case :-(

When I was transferred to the ward I had to pinch a pillow from an empty bed ;-)

I remember when I was an inpatient during 2007 I took my own pillows (purely for comfort) so now it seems that may be through necessity :-0

Couldn't fault my treatment but where do all the pillows go?

Who knows Sue but it's rife!
I had a day surgery a couple of months back and it was like pass the parcel, a very odd assortment too :-S

I hope you're on the mend

PS.. there's always a pillow shortage at Travelodge - any connection LOL

It must be regional.

A&E visits with ancient in-law(s) in Dec & Jan - no pillows in sight. Blue cellulose blankets were provided instead. Perhaps the effectiveness of laundering is the problem?

3 wards (2 different people) since mid December - there's always sufficient pillows including on the short stay 'observation' one.
