I went to the doctors with a dodgy knee. He said "It's your age" I said "The other one is OK, and that is the same age"

So it's confirmed its arthritis and injections wouldn't help .

Am on the waiting list now for knee replacement surgery

You will be fine Shirley.

My RA has gotten worse over the years, I did well at the start
after Ops.

My neighbour is well after his replacements and never looked back,
we are all different with various degrees of severity depending on
our health.

Have had both my knees done also year's ago, my advice keep
agile after Op and for years to come.
Unfortunately I can't walk any distance these days because
of back pain and unsteady on my feet.
That God for my wheelchair :-)

Well kneeling to pray isn't one of my priorities!!

But I cant kneel anyway

My problem is I have had some falls and getting up is a problem

I need to wear wide leg trousers cos the knee is so swollen

I have the problem of tripping myself as I catch one foot in the other trouser leg

I have both knees 'bionic' now :-D :-D :-D. I best not walk through security at the airport without warning them. Could you imagine the racket the alarms would make :-D :-D :-D

I hope you get it done, Shirley.
One of my brothers (a keen motorcyclist, still, aged 68) has 2 metal knees, and a titanium shin! :-S

All damage, I may add, caused by cars not seeing him on his bike.
No other member of the family has (touch wood) had a broken bone!

The only thing he can't do with his metal knees, is kneel to pray - not that he ever did/does that!! :-D

I have had problems with my right knee for 6 years

I had it X-rayed 5 years ago and was told it's arthritis and nothing can be done but eventually it may need a knee replacement

I have struggled along and it's got increasingly swollen and painful
We had a stair lift put in in Feb 2015 for hubby and he used it till August when he got sepsis and was hospitalised and lost all his mobility.
After he passed in oct 2015 my grandson said are you getting it taken out??
Nooo we paid to have it installed and I may need it one day

Well I use it now as stairs and steps are a problem

I also have a back problem to as the sacroiliac joint goes out. I see a chiropractor every month to get it manipulated back in place

My daughter has said mum you are getting a dowager hump

Yes I am and I hate seeing it if someone photos me but I can't stand erect .

Soo early Dec I decided it's time to get the knee looked at . Doc said yes I will refer you but it can take 6 months for an appointment and then 6-12months if they decide to operate
I was blimey I,m nearly 82 so are they hoping I will pop my clogs so they don't have to do it !!
Doc wasn't on my sense of humour and said no that's the norm

Sooo I was referred and had a letter a week later to ring a number to make an appointment but on ringing it was just to confirm I wanted to go ahead

Surprise a week later I got a phone call offering me the appointment for Friday

Just now hoping they will say the knee is now ready !!

I really can't afford for my mobility to get worse as I live on my own
