I am the owner of a Kindle Fire that I bought used. I'm an avid reader and play Solitaire and Sudoku on it. Wonderful invention.
Have often noticed Amazon Kindle advertising their latest model Kindle Fire.
Two part question, are the new Kindle Fires better than the original and could book already on one be transferred to a new one ?

Thank you for all help.

David, If you get a new one then you can transfer the stuff from your old device as long as they are both under the same Kindle account.

As to whether the new ones are better I am sure they are faster and lighter. I have had my Kindle Hire since they first came to the UK and it is still working fine for my purposes. That is for book reading and web browsing though when it comes to posting on GR, I prefer my PC.

As said your books are stored on Amazons server and can be downloaded to any device on that account. I have a Fire HD 8 16gb and two Paperwhite kindles on the same account that my wife and I share no problem accessing books on them.
For just plain reading though the normal Kindle Paperwhite is far better works indoors and out and much more battery life than the Fire. :-)

Thank you Mayfield and Kense. The Kindle Fire I own and use works very well.
I bought it used from Ebay. I've paid all my 2018 bills and have been at times tempted
to buy a new one. Perhaps I will ? or perhaps I will give the money to Ellen to treat herself. I previously had the Kindle 3rd generation. I gave that to the cleaning lady, along with a laptop.
