Any ideas that I have not tried?

Yesterday I ran Ccleaner, Malware bites and defragged. When I went back into Firefox it is not picking up/showing my Gmail account. I can still access Gmail eparately but not in my browser. OH is pretty with it with IT and so is daughter who is here with us but nothing works to get Gmail back into my Firefox.. Weird.

Can't help as extremely non techy myself, but have you tried googling the problem and seeing if any of the answers out there work for you?

Never defrag a modern computer it is not needed and can sometime cause problems.

Do not run multiple AV and clean up utilities they tend to stand on each other's toes.

GMail does not exist as an app on a Windows desktop only on Android & iPhone. With Windows it is launched from a browser sich as Chrome, Firefox, Edge.
GMail is always an integral part of Chrome and Google.

From where you are
(a) make sure you have saved any Firefox saved passwords, bookmarks etc
(b) deinstall Firefox. reboot
(c) using Edge or Chrome DL a new version of Firefox from the Mozilla site ( use 64 bit if you have 64 bit Windows) and renstall.

GMail stores all of its data on the remote server so you won't lose any GMail data. Do make sure you have the login details before starting this though.

TIP: Tie in yr gmail account with yr mobile phone. This makes it ez to run gmail on another machine if needed and offers enhanced security.
