Don't know if you can still buy it but mum would get a lump of beef fat from the butcher to roast the Sunday joint and the potatoes

It made the most delicious dripping with jelly at the bottom once it had been poured off into a pudding basin and set aside to set

Hot toast with dripping and jelly and sprinkled with salt and pepper

YUM YUM YUM !!!!

Not had for years :-(

I just love beef dripping on bread with a sprinkling of salt - although I shouldn't eat it really.

Go into any good butcher and you should be able to still get a lump of beef fat - and most won't charge you for it if you are buying other things at the same time.

I still cook my chips in beef dripping - although it's the sort you buy in a block from the supermarket. :-)

Our first electric toaster. It went on for years, mended umpteen times and worked brilliantly. My current one is six months old and is already burning one side and ignoring the other!! My first steam iron ditto!!

Lyon's fruit pies, especially the apricot ones and the blackcurrant ones.

It is not possible to buy sago at all now.

I can't remember where but an island or group of islands were responsible for almost all the sago production in the world and they were hit by the tsunami. This killed the palms and rendered the ground too saline for more to flourish.

A bit of an inconvenience for us but devastating for their economy.

Our daughter's lovely late husband who loved cooking and, whenever they visited would completely take over the kitchen and produce tasty meals giving me a rest (my OH doesn't cook - although he does most other things), daughter's current husband is lovely but doesn't cook. Of course we miss him for other things too but his cooking is much missed.
