I saw mention of it a day or so ago, Pat, but never took any heed because I am not a user.

I have a feeling that it's not the first time either ..... but I'm sure that Rollo will apprise us about that.

well I don't know what's going on with facebook, I never log out, but tried to get into it yesterday late on and it asked me to re-log in so i'm :-S to be honest the only reason I'm on it is to keep in touch with my old school friends and rellies in the USA and Oz.

ShelleyRose, apparently, if you are asked to re-log in it's an indication that your account has been one of those whose details are believed to be at risk (hacked, I would say).

That's what was said on this morning's news - but the same was mentioned in yesterday's newspapers and news channels.

It was also reported that Zuckerman himself has been a victim.

JoyLouise, thanks for that, I suspected as much, at least I don't feel so bad if the 'man in charge' has been hacked too.

I seldom use FB and have no real info stored on the site, not even photos.

Why not photos? What is the purpose of FB otherwise?

I only joined a couple of years ago to keep in touch with a cousin in the UK, but for all the contact that we have had on FB, I may as well have stuck with emails :-)

Likewise, I was asked yesterday and today to log in. Don't have anything amazing on there so they'd have to be desperate if they used anything!

Not spot on at all! If anyone wants to use photos of my veg, wildlife, artwork etc they are more than welcome if their life is that sad! :-D

It's children's photos where the concern is.

It's one of the reasons why schools no longer allow photos and videos of young children's various performances - which, to my knowledge has been the case for at least fifteen years, probably more.

You never know who is looking.

Anyone with a grudge against you could well seek out your child ..... and there are plenty out there who would not think twice about doing so.

I am very aware of the child protection act regarding vulnerable children which is the reason why schools don't allow photos. It's fairer to have a blanket ban than single out 'vulnerable' children, what with the way photos are splashed on social media without a second thought. But...… if parents want to share photos of their children with family and friends I don't see why not.

I believe Allan mentioned photos yesterday morning, Island, and I followed on, mentioning children's photos.

I don't know of a school that singles out vulnerable young children in this area - most have blanket bans on parents' taking snaps or videos of things such as Christmas concerts and performances.

Our daughter has always been careful about never posting a child's photo on Facebook. When an acquaintance posted our grandson's photo along with some of her own children, our daughter insisted that the woman take grandson's down immediately.

I would hope that no schools single out vulnerable children Joy which is why I mentioned the 'blanket' ban. It's been the norm for a while now, I remember some parents throwing strops with ' you can't take photos of your own kids now, pc gone mad!' I hope such parents are more understanding now.

I don't even email pics of the tiddly ones without permission as some people think it's ok to pass them on to so and so 'because they're ok and they wouldn't go further' PAH!! :-|

My veg on the other hand…… if anyone wants to manipulate my cues and make them larger..... :-D :-D
