..can I just whisper, that Pendennis Castle was once 'home' to my ancestors - and the ancestors of many others..
I wouldn't want to live there, though - too big and probably difficult to install central heating!!
Unless, of course, all the descendants moved in - then it would be a bit of a crush!
:-0 :-S

It's also now owned by the National Trust.

Apparently, my ancestor (Killigrew) also had a hand in 'directing' the build of the castle. :-D

My paternal 10x Great Grandparent's residence from 1660 to 1675.

Their son Thomas inherited (not my direct line) and died in 1702. The property was eventually sold in the 1720s to pay his debts :-(

My direct line comes from a younger daughter so I was never going to be that 'propertied'

Chris :-D

When I can't get to sleep at night I dream about my ideal home.

Devon, Budleigh Salterton or the surrounding villages.

Olde worlde three bed cottage with beams, in a village with direct access to a beach.

I have it all planned out in my head including the lifestyle I would lead.

Only trouble is that I would have to ditch the OH as he is 6 foot and 'allergic' to low beams :-(
