I might be telling you something you already know,David, and if I am,I apologize but William Shirer, who wrote the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, was an American journalist who was living in Germany in the 1930s and I would recommend any of his books to see how it really was in Germany at the time.

I have Googled it ,David, and I am not sure if I would want to read it, it looks like it might be a bit salacious and quite evidently centres on war crimes.

Japan is one of those I might look into at a later date so I can't really comment on where I will look for information at the moment.

It goes back to medieval times Sharron when feudal lords such as Shotokan and others
These made the Empire of Japan. These people are today your Toyota and Nissan etc

They waged war on China and Russia. Then to their cost they waged war on USA.

I had and read the book donkeys years ago. They treat prisoners of war appalling.

How far does that go back David?

Japan is one of those things I am going to look into one day. It did actually cut itself off from the rest of the world for years and it didn't seem to do them any harm.

You can also get Knights of the Bushido, about Japan's rise and fall.

That is where I read everything.

Something like that I read furtively in the privacy and relative comfort of my own home.

You must understand that this is a village and I would be a neo-Nazi before I kne where I was!

Oh joy unbridled!

I have just discovered that 'The Rise And Fall of the Third Reich' is available to read free, on-line.

I did have a copy but, it took so long to read that it it fell apart.

That will be it then. I am lost to the world!
