I am not on FB but OH is.
She has received an email from [email protected] asking her to accept updated terms by 25th May in order to continue using Facebook.
There is a link to go to in order to review and accept the new terms.
Has anyone else received this and is it genuine?

Although I’ve not had the email, it does pop up on the site.
For peace of mind, tell her to log in rather than following a link.

It’s mainly about giving permission for FB to use facial recognition with any photos she’s uploaded or been ‘tagged’ in.

Good advice but I wouldn't follow an unknown link anyway on principle.

She's not said it's also come up on Facebook itself but I'll have a look when she's next on (which is many times a day!).

Well, I've scrolled through deleted, spam & inbox email messages. Don't seem to have found anything similar, but may have missed it!

I have the same email but haven't looked at it as yet.

I didn't get an email but I have been asked to approve the new Ts and Cs on the site.

I had the same e mails and went in to my settings, eventually I did find a piece that includes some reference to the new Data protection laws. I think from memory I scrolled right down and clicked on Privacy terms.

I've had it - the only way they seemed to offer to opt out was to sign off altogether
