OH has taken a week off next week. There was a possibility of going to something in Canterbury next week-end but we don't want to leave the new cat alone for the week-end.

So the plan is to get our hair cut and go buy a bag of flour. We will probably go to Eling tide-mill to get the flour (medieval innit?) and hope it is not closed this time and might even buy a small sack from the Weald and Downland Museum shop as well.

Boy, do we know how to live!

They've finished the renovations at Eling Tide Mill now. :-D

I love the Weald and Downland - haven't been there for a while :-(

To be honest, Maggie, I can't be arsed with the Weald and Downland. I only ever use the shop or go down to the mill to pick up a sack.

Just doing that, there is always some self-important volunteer trying to keep you away. It sure is the place to do the pose.

We usually go when the Rare Breeds show is on.
I love watching Robert Sampson ploughing with his Percherons! :-D
Though, his son is doing more of the shows now.

If it's flour you want, Michelham Priory in Sussex is another great place.

Big old water wheel powers the grinding stones.

Ages since I visited, so no idea what it's like there now.

I do want to look at the milling gubbins in Eling mill as well, Gwynne. Strange interest I know!

It might be worth a visit to Mickleham some time though.
