I have been up to my neck in work this week. Sooo inconsiderate when trying to research my family tree. :-| :-)
I am still none the wiser regarding Richard born abt 1793/1795 Menheniot.
Richard Prynn in the England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 Name: Richard Prynn Gender: Male Baptism Date: 22 Feb 1795 Baptism Place: Menheniot,Cornwall,England Father: Richard Prynn Mother: Mary
Now that you have found that 1841 census Chris (Richard with Margaret) i think that rules that one out......plus the 1851 census states he was born in St Germans.
Odd that Martha claims to be a widow on the 1851 census......and then up pops a Richard Prynn on the 1861 and 1871. :-S
Still waiting on William Hancock's death cert. Will let you know when i receive it.
Thank you again for all the information you found Chris.

A miner moving from Cornwall to Durham? My tin/copper miners from Cornwall moved to Barrow in Furness when the tin mines closed. There was plenty of copper in Barrow - but probably more money in coal! G granddad's parent's moved back to Cornwall - hence g granddad etc were born in Cornwall. My dad's (possible) father's family moved at the same time, but stayed in Barrow in Furness, hence his (possible) father was born there - but he moved back to Devon to join the Navy - then lived in Cornwall, but in newspaper reports, is referred to as a 'Barrow' boy.

Hi Chris
It was actually William Hancock i have been researching most of yesterday and all of today,
I found his parents Thomas Hancock and Rebecca Doney...plus 3 brother's James 1824, John 1829 and Thomas 1833.
I have Betsey's baptism record....her mother was Martha.....
England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 Name Betsey Prynn Gender Female Baptism Date 10 Mar 1827 Baptism Place Menheniot, Cornwall, England Father Richard Prynn Mother Martha FHL Film Number 1596053 Household Members Name Age Betsey Prynn Martha Richard Prynn
Martha Cook in the England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973 Name: Martha Cook Gender: Female Marriage Date: 21 Nov 1814 Marriage Place: Menheniot, Cornwall, England Spouse: Richard Prynn
That 1851 census has thrown me a bit....because according to Martha, she is a Widow on the 1851 census.

William Hawken Male 25 1816 Cornwall, England Sarah Hawken Female 25 1816 Cornwall, England - - Male 0 1841 Cornwall, England William Sanders Male 15 1826 Cornwall, England Martha Pryn Female 50 1791 (Not born in County)

Deaths Jun 1854 (>99%) Prin Martha Liskeard 5c 43
Now that i have seen that 1851 census, i am wondering if that is him with a Margaret and he and Martha separated?
I haven't managed to find a Richard Prynn on the 1841 census record, but i do have an 1861 and 1871 if it's him...

Richard Prin Lodger - Male 78 1793 - Cornwall, England
Deaths Jun 1874 (>99%) PRINN Richard 82 Liskeard 5c 43
I don't know if this relates to my Richard Prynn

My dads mum was Emma Ann. She appears on most records as Emma or Emma Ann Her second husband though called her Annie and he registered the births of two of their children and gave her name as Annie
Unless those children's descendants knew her full name they could go around in circle looking for the right lady
AND shock horror they weren't actually married at the time either !!
They married in 1914 as he rejoined the army ,probably so he could make his army allotment to her .
He did take on her 4 children though from her first marriage and they had three and were together till his death in 1941
