Malcolm Report 20 Sep 2012 16:26

Just browsing the net and looking at G.R's own family tree in the light of recent events. Parent, BrightSolid based in London. Grandparent, family owned Dundee based publisher D.C. Thomson.

D.C. Thomson bought Freinds Reunited for 25.6 million from ITV who had paid 125 Million for the emergent Social Network when it was booming.

In late 2011, after Facebook became flavour of the month D.C.T. wrote F.R. including GR down to 5.2 million in their books. Ouch!

Now D.C.T. is reviewing their publishing base and generally looking uncomfortable though the group is still very stable financially, they do not like owning failing assetts.

Annual report coming up. Another change of ownership for BrightSolid FR/GR might be on the books. This, to me, would explain why B.S./ GR is not being too responsive right now.
